A common thread that spins throughout my work is the fragility of life. My intention is to conjure a profound sense of loss, of the memory of places and people through time. Most of my images are manipulated in one way or another. I am intrigued by a sense of wonder and the serendipitous discoveries that are inherent in alternative processes. I feel an intensified connection to the images because I create the initial image and make a derivative work that is independent of the original work. Haunted by candid photographs found in flea markets and antique shops, I often use these found images to distort reality and though re-contextualizing I create a new narrative bringing the ghosts of my images to life.
